Whether you’re a busy on-the-go girlie jetting around in our Monterey Set or making that self-care day extra elite with our Carmen Set, we want to make sure your fit stays looking fresh every time you wear it. First, let’s talk fabrics:
100% Cotton
Here at Altair we love our 100% cotton sets, especially the Carmen and Tulum. These chic ladies are made with a breathable, woven muslin perfect for an easy-breezy day. Now, because these beauts are 100% cotton, that does make them more susceptible to shrinkage. So let’s swerve that hot water and opt for cool and refreshing whether you hand wash or machine wash, followed by a good ol’ fashioned line dry. Make sure to wash with similar colors, we like to keep pink where it belongs, firmly on our Isabel Set in rose! With our Playa Set, there’s a slight stretch to the fabric but let’s still remember she’s still 100% cotton, so same rules apply. Cotton Blend
The Monterey Set is the perfect mix between comfy-cozy and places to be! This ribbed knit fabric is 94% cotton and 6% spandex which means there’s lots of great stretch. To keep that gorgeous rust and sage looking bright and vibrant every day of the week, wash with similar colors in coldest temps possible. If machine washing, we highly recommend using that gentle or delicate cycle. When hand washing or otherwise, avoid wringing or twisting which can stretch the knit fabric, and nobody wants that! Drying flat will also help keep the shape of our boxy fit luxury loungewear set.
Polyblend
Want to know why we love polyblends here at Altair? They’re just so versatile! They give our women’s loungewear sets that luxury feel we know you crave. Our Celia Set is a blend of 95% polyester and 5% spandex which gives that ribbed knit fabric a comfy stretch making it perfect for lazy days in bed. The Cielo Top and Pant in sky and sunshine come in at 97% polyester and 3% spandex, with a unique, lightweight cable-knit texture that makes even the warmest days have cozy vibes. If you’re looking for a more breathable fit, the Isabel Set in moss and rose are perfect for those warm weather to-do’s. This stunner is an 85% acetate and 15% polyester fabric which gives it zero stretch but will have you feeling chic no matter the season. Despite the differences here, we’ve made it easy for you and kept our washing instructions the same: hand wash or machine wash cold with similar colors and lay flat to dry!
Rayon
Our Cove Set was specifically designed with luxury in mind. Ever need a pajama day but still want to look fab? The relaxed fit will have you feeling effortlessly sophisticated whether you’re picking up groceries or curled up with this month’s best seller. Our stone and canary set is a 100% breathable rayon gauze with no stretch, but runs oversized. If you opt for a machine wash, keep the cycle on delicates with a low spin cycle. Our rayon pro tip is to keep that water cold, cuz hot water can shrink and misshape the fabric. Wash her with similar colors, dry flat, and when needed, lightly steam to restore the original shape of your matching lounge set. Linen
We don’t talk enough about linen! It is all the rage, and we know why–style, texture, and fabric care! Our Meadow Top and Pant is one of our favorite neutral printed matching lounge sets. This gingham piece is 100% linen with no stretch but plenty of style. We recommend not washing this set with heavy items like towels or denim to prevent damage, and wash with similar textures and colors using cold water. If handwashing, never twist or scrub! And of course, hang it up to dry on your favorite clothes line or drying rack.
Knit Bamboo Spandex
Uh hello, can you say eco friendly? The Luna Set is a gorgeous blend of 94% bamboo and 6% spandex, making this set extra soft, cozy, and luxurious, with a better impact on the environment! You can wash this women’s loungewear set on a cold, gentle cycle and either tumble dry low or line dry. Want to really lean into eco-friendly fabric care? We have great news for you: most of our tips are already pretty eco friendly! Here are some of our favs:
- Wash your clothes with cold water. It’s not only great for the environment, but keeps your favorite luxury women’s loungewear sets looking bright and fresh! And your utilities bill doesn’t look too shabby either!
- Only run full loads of laundry. We get this can be tricky, especially if you’re trying to match colors and textures. But just do your best, Mother Nature will thank you!
- Let your matching sets air dry. You can use your favorite drying rack, the back of a door or chair, or lay those tops and bottoms flat to dry to keep their shape.
- Avoid fabric softeners or dryer sheets. Instead, you can opt for dryer balls with a couple drops of essential oils. We love lavender and eucalyptus. Although one of our loungewear sets smelling of lavender might be a recipe for a midday snooze.
Buttons
Ladies, has your favorite button down shirt ever gotten that pesky wrinkled collar you don’t know what to do with? Let’s leave the bacon on the breakfast table and eliminate that bacon neck once and for all! With our classic button down tops like the Cove Top, the Carmen Top, and the Playa Top, you can iron on a low-to-medium hot setting, with a cloth in between the fabric and iron, or take the easy out and steam the collar flat. If you want to get ahead of the game, while your tops are line drying, button that top button and you’re good to go!
